DOUGLAS MILLER

Douglas Miller was born in Cheshire in 1937 and has spent most of his working life in market research. He was a keen cricketer, playing till he was 70, and he now umpires in the Thames Valley League.

He has written Born To Bowl a biography of the Glamorgan cricketer Don Shepherd, and Charles Palmer - More Than Just A Gentleman about the Leicestershire captain and secretary. He was Chairman of the Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians till 2009 and has written three books for them: The Cricket Grounds of Gloucestershire, A History of Bucks County Cricket Club and a biography of Allan Watkins. He is currently working on a biography of Jack Bond.
