IVAN PONTING
Ivan
Ponting has lived in Somerset all his life and has followed the fortunes
of the county cricket club for as long as he can remember. An experienced
journalist, he makes his living by writing football books (more than two dozen
to date) and by contributing obituaries to The Independent newspaper.
As a village cricketer he was a numbingly slow batsmen, but he rarely plays these days – though he remains open to offers.
He is married with two children and does not stray far from Chewton Mendip.
